Use Submersible Pumps For Efficiency And Quality

A submersible pump pushes liquid to the top instead of pulling to the surface like a jet pump. This is a much more efficient method of moving the water. The entire system is submerged under water and the main advantage here is that there is no danger of pump cavitation. This is a great difference because high elevation between the pump and the fluid surface can often cause such problems.

The inventor of this novel device was Armais Arutunoff, who was a delivery system inventor and engineer from Russia. The design underwent a lot of changes until the 1960s when the first completely submersible pump was developed.

Working

Multistage centrifugal pumps are placed in a vertical position inside a submersible pump. Despite the change in design over the years, the basic working principle of this device has remained the same since its invention. The fluids are subjected to centrifugal forces created by high rotational speed of the impeller but they lose their kinetic energy in the diffuser. All the energy is quickly transformed into pressure energy, and this is the main working mechanism of the mixed and radial flow pumps.

Applications

Unlike the jet pumps, these devices have many more applications besides pumping water from wells. Single phase pumps are important in drainage, sewage pimping, slurry pumping and general pumping industrial. Because of their high power, they are also popularly used as pond filters. Multiple stage Submersible Bore Pumps are deployed in a borehole and used in residential, municipal, commercial and industrial water mining as well as in water wells and oil wells.

There are many other uses like sewage treatment plants, water well, sea water handling, deep well drilling, and irrigation systems and mine dewatering. Since it uses a flame retardant cable, they are ideal for firefighting.

Cables

These pumps are designed to be used with cables that are specialized for pumping environmental conditions. This means that submersible pumps can be used underwater or in wet ground and be exposed to very harsh conditions without any compromise on performance. It must also be stated that the cable used must be reliable and quite durable since damage in cables can lead to very high maintenance costs and destroy budget.

Another thing to consider is the size and width of the cable must be such that it fits with the pumping instrument. These cables are often color coded for easy identification.
